PELTIER-COOLED INCUBATORS EVEN MORE ECO!

The word ECO, which has invaded our lives with a bang, has gone from being a fashion statement to a lifestyle and even a sense of duty that we should do for our planet. It is worth taking care of our planet so that it can serve us and those who come after. Avoiding plastic, saving water or electricity are starting points for a better life on Earth. At POL-EKO-APARATURA, ECO issues are close to our heart and we are constantly changing to make things better. Once again, we're making a small contribution to ensure that the devices we produce use less Energy. Our eco Peltier-cooled incubator has become even more ECO!

MANY BENEFITS

A Peltier-cooled incubator is a device that operates at temperatures between 0°C and +70°C (a maximum of 20°C below ambient temperature). The device has forced air circulation and the possibility of fan operation regulation. POL-EKO-APARATURA manufactures the device in four variants with the capacity of 56, 112, 245 and 749 litres. All are equipped with a modern microprocessor controller in Smart or Smart PRO version to choose from. The equipment has applications in microbiology, plant breeding and microorganisms. They are also used to incubate samples under specific conditions such as BOD determination.

What are the advantages of a device with a Peltier cell cooling system? From eliminating the compressor-based cooling system from the incubator. This makes the incubators environmentally friendly as there is no need for refrigerant gases. They are also lighter and smaller by not having the aforementioned equipment that takes up space and weighs its own. This matters if the lab space is not too large.

Another issue is vibration, which is simply less due to the lack of a compressor. No less advantage is homogeneity and stability resulting from the use of Peltier fires. In addition, the time to reach the set temperaturę (e. g. after opening the door) is significantly shorter. It is worth emphasizing here that the cooling system based on the mentioned compressor has its advantages and is also used in our devices. However, each group of devices manufactured by POL-EKO-APARATURA is different and meets different needs, therefore we do not negate the use of traditional cooling systems. However, in the case of incubators, we relied on an innovative solution that has been refined over time.

OPTIMIZED CONTROL PROCESS

It seems that the device in question here is perfect and can actually be called ECO. Nevertheless, thanks to the improvements of our designers and R&D staff, we have achieved even better results with our Peltier-cooled incubator.

Thanks to the optimization of the control process, the energy demand of the entire plant is significantly reduced, especially at temperatures close to ambient. This resulted in a reduction of operating costs in the context of the electricity charge. Over the entire operating range of the unit (0*C – 70*C), electricity costs were reduced by an average of:

– 44% in ILP 53 model

– 40% in ILP 115 model

– 39% in ILP 240 model

We can boast that we managed to achieve even greater stability and the possibility to adjust the speed of external fans, which significantly reduced the noise level of the device itself. Moreover, for temperature settings close to the ambient temperature, the external fans are switched off. They only switch on higher power demand. This automatically affects the noise level and the often mentioned and emphasized the issue of electricity consumption. All these changes put us ahead of the competition by offering the customer a specialized appliance that consumes less electricity than an induction hob, oven, or refrigerator.

PROFITS FOR YOURSELF AND THE EARTH

By optimizing the control process of the incubator, we are able to save almost half of the electricity used by the device so far, and thus save money. This is of great importance in view of changes in electricity prices, which have recently become significantly more expensive. In addition to the benefit of a fuller pocket, lower electricity consumption translates into lower CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. This in turn improves the quality of our air and the lives of people and wildlife. After all, that’s what we all care about.
