Climatic chambers with phytotron system FIT
What are climatic chambers with the FIT option?
Advanced research requires appropriate tools with specific parameters, functionalities, and precise control.
Climatic chambers provide temperature and humidity control as standard.
However, in many research and testing applications, one additional parameter is essential: dedicated lighting inside the unit.
That is why POL-EKO offers optional FIT lighting systems for KKS and KKP climatic chambers, based on LED modules or LED T5 tubes.
Drawing on many years of experience and currently available technical solutions, customers can choose from several ready-made LED lighting systems.
Standard lighting systems in climatic chambers with the FIT option
-
FIT P – above-shelf LED lighting modules, available as standard in two variants:
- cool white (4000K),
- multicolor version: red (657 and 727 nm), blue (450 nm), and cool white (4000K).
FIT P LED MULTI lighting panel
FIT P LED WHITE lighting panel
- FIT S – lighting in cool white (4000K), mounted in the side walls.
- FIT D – lighting in cool white (4000K), mounted in the doors.
- FIT DS – lighting in cool white (4000K), mounted in both the side walls and the doors.
FIT D – LED T5 tubes in chamber doors
FIT S – LED T5 tubes in chamber side walls
FIT DS – LED T5 tubes in chamber doors and side walls
All FIT solutions allow smooth adjustment of light intensity within the range of 10% to 100%.
Solutions tailored to individual requirements
In addition to the standard FIT lighting systems, we also design and manufacture solutions tailored to individual customer requirements. These may include:
- white light sources in 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, or 6500K,
- UV-A, UV-B, or UV-C fluorescent lamps,
- LED light sources in specific colours.
LED "MULTI" module dedicated to plant growth processes – flexible configuration options
A special LED module with four independently controlled light colours has been designed for research into plant growth processes. This allows the user to adjust the light spectrum to a defined research process.
- deep red – peak wavelength 657 nm, absorption zone of chlorophyll a and b,
- far red – peak wavelength 727 nm, phytochrome control and flowering induction,
- blue – peak wavelength 450 nm, stimulation of photosynthesis and vegetative growth,
- cool white – 4000K, for research requiring the full visible spectrum.
When designing lighting systems for climatic chambers, we aimed to achieve the optimal balance between light intensity and uniformity across the shelves. The standard FIT solutions currently provide users with light intensity of up to 600 µmol/m²/s. If higher values are required, we can also offer a special chamber version with light intensity on the shelf reaching up to 1000 µmol/m²/s.

Applications of climatic chambers with the FIT option
KKS and KKP climatic chambers with the FIT option are designed for fully controlled, reproducible plant research, independent of season, location, and external conditions. They enable precise analysis of the effects of temperature, humidity, and lighting on plant growth, physiology, and metabolism. In plant sciences, they support studies on photosynthesis, germination, and plant responses to abiotic stress. In biotechnology, they provide stable and sterile conditions for cultivation and genetic experiments. In agronomy, they enable testing of new varieties for yield potential and resistance to drought, salinity, and climate change. The ability to reproduce virtually any climatic zone under laboratory conditions reduces the need for costly field trials and allows complete experimental cycles to be carried out throughout the year.
